Laguna Phuket Triathlon 2010

Motivation of doing this LPT because of the outperform in 2009, I wouldn't expect if this would not be better than last year, however... Training for this LPT is zero if I compare with last year, I didn't do any specific hill climb, didn't strengthen the upper body, didn't work on the core, didn't do any long run after the ironman Taiwan, I don't want to put any excuse from work stress but apparently it's quite true. Preparation?! After ironman Taiwan, my left knee was quite weak, only done 1 30k hilly ride, 50% club training (mainly swim), 1 x 40k cycling time trial, 1 x 10k run, that's it. Logistic-wise, this time is much simpler, we stayed in the laguna beach hotel is where nearest the swim start, transition, finish area, pasta party, simple and easy, we had a connected room with Fred and Su so we still got the feeling of sharing the villa, we can also hit the beach and cheap cafe with walking distance! Nice! Our new friend Tim and

It's all about the journey

But we all support our loved ones and friends no matter what - thank goodness we have the desire and will to continue learning, pushing ourselves to see what we are made out of.  It doesn't matter what our time is, the important thing is that we are out there doing our best and learning with each training session and race.  It's all about the journey - not just the race result!!!  Well Done Charles for sticking it out b/c it is easier to give up then to keep on going, especially when it is a TOUGH day!!  You are now physically and mentally stronger than you were before Taiwan 70.3 and you can take that into your training and racing in the future!! Thank you for your message Joey.

Garmin Connect - my new training log start from 2011

After all those years with Polar, Sportstrack, I am moving forward to use GarminConnect as my training blog start from 2011! It's web-based, crosss-platform. It allows sharing to multiple web platform, e.g. blogger, facebook... It's Google Earth compatible. I just need to figure out how to log my equipment mileages e.g. running shoes, wheels...

Take it too easy, take it too serious - Ironman Taiwan 70.3

Life had been too stressful in last 3 months, training was not on track, I did question myself whether I should do this race, but given that I have been doing triathlon for many years, I do keep myself training all years round, and the motivation from my team Sonic, to make myself no regret, I still give it a go. My G was training really hard for this race and keep motivate me, just take it easy and enjoy the surrounding, I will be fine. It became my belief. Arriving Kenting under the beautiful weather. Chill, sunny and wind, very mild temperature just perfect for sports! Until we rode on the race course to realize how windy is that. We rode and swam the course before checkin the bike, unlike Ironman China, I felt relax under this atmosphere, beautiful weather and place, feel like in the holiday more than a pure race, I keep this feeling until the evening. We finished the carboloading dinner at 7pm, back to room the pack up for race, I didn't take standard picture for my r

New Toy! New Toy! Garmin Edge500 Bike Computer

Thanks for my G, this is awesome! data fields display can be fully customized, auto sense, Garmin Connect is also cross platform! Very good device! If I need to be picky, maybe the mounting is not tight enough...?! Just their cross-training watch is too big and too un-fashionable.

HK training camp - Day 2: Medium ride

Very tired, didn't want to wake up but G is very motivated! Today planned: 100k + run Actual: 60k ride with Su and G, good warm up, good effort, even though the wind is stronger and heat is more than yesterday, all about how it begin. spent 20mins in aid-station and then tried to run 10mins, feel okay!

Long Ride

Kenneth calling for the long ride, big group! Fun! But everybody out of control, eventually ride on my own heart rate and then sharp drop after 80k......not in shape at all, 1 month to go Ironman Taiwan!!! HOW???

COMO hotels and resorts

This is really true in my experience of Como hotels: paradise - is not just where you go, but where people understand you.

Ironman - Anything is possible?!

Is Ironman a real American sports? People feel so prove of being a xx times Ironman finisher (becoz you got the time and money), all finishers are winners (dis-regardless of time), mind over body (but hurt yourself in the end), isn't it really big enough to be a promotional slogon?! I start to feel this sports become so american, people seeing this so BIG, people doing this sports are all over-self-confident, wearing Ironman product from head to toes, even put the M dot tattoo on the body to tell people how BIG how strong they are? Too much are always bad, before I attempt any Ironman races, I feel a little sick of it.
