2008-07 Bali Holiday Day 6

21 July, a day in the pool and final shopping We skipped running this morning and playing and shoting around at the pool at Villa Seri for the morning before we checked out. Then we got transport to the Kuta Discovery Mall that's the shopping mall for the typical tourists that we believed we could buy some gifts for friends. Oh that's the mall includes everything in the street so you could walked around comfortablely with air-con, without dirt and dust! That could be the check point for our family in September, we also met some HKers there. A quick lunch at the beach front cafe, got back our luggages from Villa Seri and went to airport at 3pm, say Goodbye to Bali at 4pm and we said see you in September!

2008-07 Bali Holiday Day 5

20 July, a day for surf! Today we still run, but the run along Jalan Umalas 1, with a lot of green, a lot of paddy fields! There are some Villas but some are for half year or 1 year rent, nothing cheap as Seri!! we then jump back to the pool to cool our body! refreshing! Lunch we went back to Bali Bakery Kuta, it just too good, we didn't mind to go there again!! If you don't surf, don't go to Bali, that's my belief. Kuta beach is more busy now, I rent a short board this time as it looked a lot cooler!! Frankly it was 3pm already, the wave was smaller and not moving too quick.... I went for good, but G stayed on the beach and dealing with those annoying hawkers. "No la No la" "later later" that was her words for that afternoon. There is another thing should do after the Kuta beach is to go Spa! So you can wash your body and take a rest! This time we choose another hotel at Kuta area. Then we went to seafood dinner at Jimbaran Bay. Things are still the

2008-07 Bali Holiday Day 4

19 July, a day in Grand Hyatt This was the last day in Grand Hyatt we normally spent time in the resort. My usual routine, 30mins jog + shower + breakfast. It was Saturday, the resort was more busy in the weekend, people already queued up for the pool side cafe where were quite quiet in the day before. Background music was loud that didn't seem to fit the morning. We didn't stay long and moved to the beach right after the breakfast. It was still super sunshine, couldn't help to jump into the water to feel the indian ocean! It was the day of full moon, swell was strong, current was also strong that I could feel. Not really for surfing and swimming but body-boarding was fine. We got tanned for a while from the beach then moved to the pool. Many people staying on the pool but they didn't swim, typical resort style. We took a few shots there! Weather was lovely anyway!! Until 12:00, we went back for packing and check-out. Oh the guy served us is a front desk manager! We exp

2008-07 Bali Holiday Day 3

18 July, another day to prepare our wedding! My usual routine, 30mins jog before the breakfast. Then we grabbed a taxi to Ritz Carlton for a meeting with Mada Astika, our wedding coordinator, a young and nice guy. He first brought us to the venue Asmara Gazebo, where our wedding would take place, introducing the surrounding and explaining what and how the environment would be setup, we also moved to the very modern decorated preparation room for the bride and the groom, then we sit down for a meeting and confirmed the rundown and some of the outstanding tasks. Oh! A meeting at Ritz Carlton!! G felt another unleash as our wedding became more visualizing! We then ran into the resort of Ritz Carlton Bali and checking in checking out some rooms that we eagered to stay at, well.... So we went to the Aquatonic Pool that another place we've been missing for 5 years! You gonna check it out in the next visit of Ritz Carlton Bali! Better to do it after a day of surfing in Kuta Beach, coz you

2008-07 Bali Holiday Day 2

17 July, photo shoting day for pre-wedding! 6:30am, phone alarm ringing, the plan was to take a 30mins jog before the breakfast as the crew from Photo Factory will come to our room at 8am. But why did they ring the bell at 7am? "Hello Good morning Charles we are from Photo Factory, how are you?" Greeting from Photo Factory. "Oh Hi! Good morning, you guys aren't coming at 8am? What is the time now?" I asked. "It's 4 minutes past 8." "Oh really!! It's 8am already!! GOoosh!!!"...@#$%@IU I quickly realized the mobile phone time was in-synce with the network provider as the provider was in Jakata time and it was 1 hour before Bali time!!! DAMN!!!!! But don't worry, as they need to do make up for G, so I went to Garden Cafe to grab some bread for G, I did my 30mins run during her make up. I was ready and prepare for the shot as I trained hard and eat heathy for my body, but G didn't seem to be that prepare even though she tried hard

2008-07 Bali Holiday Day 1

Haven't been really go oversea holiday with G after moving out. It was 16 July. We waked up at 5:30am, grabed a taxi to the bus station and headed to the airport. We had a quick breakfast, grabbed a few magazines (Cycle Sport, Men's Health my flavours) then caught the 10am flight to Depensar, Bali, the place we've been missing since year 2003. At the time we boarding we met Nerrida Rigg!! The organizer of Splash N Dash Aquathon and Deep Water Ocean swim series !! She and her family were also going to Bali, Nusa Dua!! 4 hours of flight, landing on the beautiful super sunshine lovely Bali Island at just 2pm! Grabbed a taxi and checked in to room 3258 Grand Hyatt at Nusa Dua at 4pm. After settling down, a quick shower and walked around the resort and checked out the beach!! Lovely! We then sit down and ate something at Garden Cafe and welcomed by the hospitable staff. We were hungry and dared not to eat much as we aimed at keeping fit for the pre-wedding photo shoting next da

Dear all friends and families, You've got the ticket to Bali!!! The good news is, Gigi find another agent that confirmed the flight ticket for most of you that confirmed to join our party earlier! Attached is the package list from that agent, the price is more or less same as Swire Travel but this one, Westminster Travel, they are more responsive. So, all of us will be taking CX and the schedule is attached, room allocation is just the rough draft. Now we need to choose a hotel, ideally I hope all friends can stay at the same hotel so I will ask one by one. I will try to maintain the bugdet at around 5-6k per person for 4D3N. please also let me know your through. If you are interested in joining our party but unsure about what to do. Dinner at Morton

It's the birthday dinner with Chiam at Morton of Chicago Steakhouse! Pang, Mr. and Mrs. Han also in!I throught it's sort of fine-dining place but in fact it's quite a common place for birthday boys n girls, heard birthday song were singing from time to time by the hospitality serving crew! Mark was late but he had already ordered a special menu for Chiam titled Happy Birthday to Edwin! ...but the price remains...the steak was huge! I ordered a normal rib eye but it was already 450g!!!!Medium cooked, (I should have it medium rare) The first taste is the best, feeling a bit full about half of it. Barely finish it. Too much! The Morton is for pure meat lovers, and no bother to share a steak as you would barely finish it yourself!!

The Sheko Open Water Challenge

A big milestone in my swimming! 2.2k truely open water swim from Big Wave Bay to Shek O for 38-39mins! 5th of July was a beautiful day, blue sky, sunshine, south wind, perfect for the swim in this route! The ocean looked pretty and pretty calm and flat in the far view. But the fact is, swimming out of Big Wave Bay is actually quite choppy and quite a wave! You need to have the gust and the skill to master the environment, I swam all the way with confident and effort without single moment of feeling panic! I grow up and becoming more mature in the swim, if I did it in two years ago, I thought I'd throw my towel and get on the boat. I am happy about my swim over this 2.2k, I am happy with all my training paid off, and I am also happy to realize the benefit to the strong core that could really help in riding the wave and help to catch another group of swimmers that was ahead of you! The Shek O Open Water Challenge is the swim for the people really like swimming and adventure, it's

[ FLASHPOINT ] the movie

[ FLASHPOINT ] This is the best local fighting movie I've ever seen! Very solid mixed martial arts and gun fight, I was not very into martial arts thing but this movie is my eyes open!

"handover" ride 1/7

The plan is that. 8am started from Tung Chung carpark for a loop to Disneyland warm up then head back to Cheung Tung Road for 2 loops of speed work, after that a warm down in airport loop. After a week of rainy day, the sun is shining again! Clear blue sky and light wind, perfect for cycling, we started at 8am as planned, after the warm up, the speed work is crazy, our drafting group have Kent, Ivan, Netwon, Chiam, Jacky, Rockson, Gabriel...maintain at 35kmph sometime reaching 4x!! crazy! keep on pushing pushing and pushing, HR maintain at 160 but I normally keep 150-155...Rockson was dropped and I was also dropped in the last 10k....two bottles of water gone so need to refill in Disneyland, I was dry and dehyrated.... painful, not really there....rest for a while in Disneyland and cool down back to the carpark. a very tough ride, especially after some run and swim speed work last night, also a bad sleep, but I felt myself mentally improved to deal with the negatives. We 'handover&
