Recapping 2014

2014 was a great year! 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty' was a great movie to kick off! I was so moved and reminded myself to reach out of the comfort zone! I did that, I trained with G together for a half-ironman, (I kept saying not training for the same long course race since the nightmare situation in 2010). Now I proved myself wrong! Can do! And we did it! 4 months of consistent training with the goal in our mind, we made it! See Challenge Taiwan experience In May we spent a week to explore Osaka , Kaga-onsen and Kanasawa for great food, onsen and some shopping, also experienced my first flight delay I enjoyed the most to extended shopping and eating at civilizied KIX airport! After few months of researching, walking around, I bought my first car! Mini Cooper S Countryman 2012 model aka Happyman! It really fits into our lifestyle and lot of convenient for training!  Signed up another Ironman 70.3 Taiwan in November meant I have to keep myself moving and traini

Ironman 70.3 Taiwan - where I fall is where I rise again!

After finishing Challenge Taiwan half, I took an easy month at training and spent a holiday to Japan with G! To keep myself motivated at training, I need a race goal, and our Sonic fellas would sign up Ironman Taiwan and motivate coach Kenneth to come back to, so I join! Just myself this time, G decide not to do the 4th time as she is enough for this location. Hot Summer to begin... Okay, proper training cycle kicked off from July. Training schedule was adjusted a little since Sonic Sunday session resumed, so Monday 2hrs run, Tueday on an hour turbo, Wednesday 2hrs swim, Thursday run back home, Friday off, Saturday long ride, Sunday brick sessions. It was about 10hrs or less to begin. Absolutely manageable and keeping my social life. Just the run was burtal in the hot summers, it took me long time to deal with the heal during long run, even in the evening, in July and August, running in 33C feel like 43C, and the little wind and humidity, I limited my long run within 75mins, 90m

Mini Countryman is a happy man!

Pick up my new car tonight, all the mixed feeling become so exciting and very happy with our new car!! G is very happy!! Feeling surreal!! Thanks all my friends advise and referral, especially my dad Philip Hui for the checkup!!! Countryman is happy man now!!!

Mini Cooper S Countryman

Finally bought my first car! I can't believe it take such a long process to sort out the right one, it's not Honda Edix, Subaru Forester, XV, not Golf GTI, not Tiguan, not B200....it's Mini Cooper S Countryman!! It's very stylish hippies and powerful!! It's more than my orginal budget but it's in very good condition and no regret for it! Just a mixed feeling after putting down the payment, the process is indeed too simple and easy.... I like the color and also the wheels!!

1st July protest

It's my very first time to step out for my disappointment, it's a very hot day with occasional shower, it's quite sad to see many people come out and voice out for our own right and the government is not listening to the people at all. I hope today we should go celebrate instead of doing the protest however it's still not fulfilling the requirement. As a local grew HKer, today we makes history.

Challenge Taiwan 2014 Race Report

6 months of preparation , we finally at TaiTung for the Challenge Taiwan 2014! It's my 2nd half ironman distance triathlon, also the first time to do race organized by Challenge Family . I always prefer to do indie or non-M-dot races which I don't feel the pressure from the hype, adding the good comments from my fellas saying the how beautiful is the bike course, how clear the fresh water in the lake and run course alone the tree shade....I give my 2nd long course triathlon a go! I signed up in October and decide this is the race to re-gain my confident on long course! We arrived at KaoHsiung airport at around 9:30am Thur and 4 hours bus ride to Taitung after running though some motorway and the beautiful Taiwan mountain to the east coast of Taiwan. We stayed in the small hotel which is only 5mins walk from the official hotel, inexpensive and very convenient for our daily supplement since the Family Mart is just next door with a few food stalls nearby. As usual oversea

Coming back to the distance! Challenge Taiwan 2014

It takes me a long while to come back to the 70.3 distance triathlon since my disaster finish in 2010 Ironman Taiwan . It is like a bit of a cycle in economic, I gone though the recession, the depression and the recovery period of doing this sports in these few years, since I started doing this in 2004. I learn from my G and realized what it takes to achieve the result. started from November 2013, it was the time I kicked off the plan to prepare this Challenge Taiwan half iron distance triathlon! The Plan I reviewed my work schedule and fine tuning my training routine, I think winter time is rather suitable for my preparation! My super G keeps remaining me the importance of being consistency at training, it is the core value of the entire training plan. So I moved my evening work meeting to Thur 9pm, I can off work sharp and insert a weekly 60-90mins LSD office 2 home run in between that I learn from the Aussie, which also help on my run endurance I always miss! I had a g
