Post-Operation progress 23 days

Day 10, 10 Dec First time visiting Dr. Tong after surgery, checking the wound, looking good. Range of motion 100 degree, but all the ankle was quite swell and very dark.... Next day to start Physiotherapy. Day 11, 11 Dec First time to visit Physiotherapist, she found that my compression dressing was incorrectly flip-over on the ankle area that's why my ankle swell up and turn dark due to the blood circulation was affected!! She did 15mins massages on my ankle for better blood circulation but I was pain like hell!!!!! And then she introduces some exercises that could improve the range of motion and the strength of quadriceps. Day 13, 13 Dec Second time for Physio, same, 15mins massages...HELP..... Day 18, 18 Dec Third time for Physio, a lot better on my ankle as I spent some effort to massage it at home, range of motion slightly improved, the swell around the knee also reducing. Day 20, 20 Dec Physio started to introduce another exercises for further strengthen the quadriceps, all t

Post-Operation progress 7 days

Day 1 after the surgery The knee and the surrounding were swelled, I can walk with crutch, not feeling any pain because of painkiller? I can bend my knee for 45 degree. Just keep evaluation for the better blood circulation, and keep wearing the compression dressing. Day 7 after the surgery Not feeling any pain so far, the swell seems to be reduced, range of motion improved to 100 degree, still walking with crutch, wearing compression dressing and evaluation.

Surgery of ACL reconstruction and Medial Meniscus Repair

Just visit Dr. Tong for more understanding for my mental preparation for the surgery of Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction and medial meniscus tear in my left knee. Knowing that... I would take the method of the reconstruction with patellar tendon as advised by Dr. Tong. Reference: http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/aclrepain/a/aclgrafts.htm Few days after the surgery, I may feel little dizzy after the operation. 1 week after the surgery, my left knee will be swelled and feel pain, need to walk with a stick and keep icing it, will avoid contacting water when the wound still not cured. Expecting to resume swimming and stationary bike exercise after 4 weeks. Expecting to wear the knee braces with thinner material for better movements Expecting to visit Physical Therapy in the 1st few months for rehabilitation advise and progress review. Expecting to feel the minor pain on the left knee in the following year, the pain will be gone gradually. Expecting to resume jogging and runni

Packed weekend

Saturday ride and Wedding Bouquent Sunday: Cycling race, Jet-boating, Meeting friends Tour of Hong Kong Shanghai (Cycling Race, stage 1, Heng Fa Chuen) A very packed Sunday! First half was about cycling race in Heng Fa Chuen!! It's a very rare chance to see a lot of cyclists racing in my place! It makes Heng Fa Chuen becomes so busy and so green! Very happy for that, and very happy to support my cycling club "CMS Cycling"! Kenji was leading the team to do their best, Jermey was supporting in the background, also met Ivan, Raymond and Gabriel for their HSBC ride! Second half was about the sea! 6 hours of adventures with friends, music, wine, speed and full taste of swells! Speaking up all the way! We rode the waves from Aberdeen to Po Toi Island for seafood lunch, bumped into DanDan at the time we left! She is still looking very good! Then we rode all the way from Po Toi to Tai Long Sai Wan in Sai Kung! Alone the eastern shore of Hong Kong (off-shore sometime!!)! That was

Saturday ride (50/50)

Today ride we have Rockson as usual and Shek O Yee, Jacky called for sick leave. 10k warm up, 5k speed (out Shek O) and 5k normal (in Shek O) x 5, 3k warm down Great ride for this 50/50 format. Polar not working, no heart rate recording....

Saturday Ride...

Today usual ride with Jacky and Rockson, the plan was 5 x 10k loop, first 30k at constant pace and the last 20k with some break-away and catch. After the 5k warm-up, Shek O Yee joint in, Jacky bumped up to 32kmph out Shek O! Damn it are we suppose to keep it lower?? To draft or to leave as Rockson's friend with lower ability was far behind! We regroup after the chaos then the solid ride began! Keeping at 30-32kmph out Shek O, 35-37kmph inbound Shek O, look at the heart rate! The tirth loop pedalling very hard! Rockson lead 35-38kmph out Shek O! My god he gone crazy! I was quite dead but no choice but forget about the cadence and gear up the big ring on the front, fourth loop is my lead, already dead but keep pedaling very hard, pushing the heart rate! Rockson wheel touching Jacky and he fallen off....so the last lap is the most constant one. These two guys are bit angry these days.

Breaking News: Nomura to buy Lehman Brother Asian Operations

Nomura wins auction for Lehman's Asian Ops... One of the historical event of my firm. TOKYO/HONG KONG - JAPAN'S Nomura Holdings is to buy the Asian operations of Lehman Brothers, a source with direct knowledge of the deal said on Monday, outbidding other banks seeking to scoop up the bankrupt US bank's Asian assets. The source did not say how much the deal was worth, nor did he say if certain Lehman units were excluded from the agreement. The Wall Street Journal reported that the deal is worth US$225 million (S$319 million). Nomura and Britain's Barclays have also bid for parts of Lehman's business in Europe, as administrators seek to save as many jobs and salvage as much business as possible from the wreckage of what was Wall Street's fourth biggest investment bank. Barclays is interested in Lehman's European equities businesses, a person familiar with the matter said. That could include 1,000-1,500 bankers and support staff, mostly in London, out of Lehman

Why Campagnolo Bora Ultra?

from Tri Gear Review Gear: Campagnolo Bora Ultra: Remarkably Smooth Ride The first thing you notice about Campagnolo's Bora Ultras is their beauty. Due to their looks or perhaps because they are relatively rare and so expensive, few wheelsets draw as many remarks. The carbon weave of the rim and hub is far more exciting than the black plastic look of most competitors’ carbon wheels. Moreover, they look and feel remarkably well made and the individual parts are well integrated. The hub, axle and bearing assembly is especially nice and easy to work with. I also like the way the spokes just seem to disappear into carbon; there's no nipple or flange that you can see, they just poke through the hub and then slide back into the rim. This may be one reason why they perform so well in the wind tunnel. I installed Tufo Elite Jet tires on the Boras with Tufo Extreme tape. Tires mount to the Boras just like they do to any other carbon tubular wheel. I use Tufo Elite Jet tires on every w

Recap 2008-09-20 Goodbye Bali!

Yoga master Without climbing the mountain, we can go Yoga class in the morning, we have the same Yoga teacher and the class only have two of us. Felt like the postures were moving to more intermediate level as he known our level after the first class. After the class, we chated for a while during the watermelon time, he not only is a yoga teacher, but also a lifestyle promoter to promote the living with good physical and mental health, he has strong organic belief and his voice is very claim and peaceful. It doesn't convince me to go with his path but at some point I was inspired. I felt I catch a little trick in Yoga compare with scretching for sports. Again we went for the big breakfast, I miss the pool, it was super sunny day, but G want to visit the nearby temple, let's go and take a look! Goodbye Bali! After temple, I couldn't wait jumping back to the pool, for some swim for some shot, checked out at 1pm, time to go airport, and say goodbye to Swam, and to Bali, the Is

Recap 2008-09-19 The Chedi Club Ubud

We started the day by yoga class! The yoga teacher already waiting but only two of us attend the class, it was another very nice experience in doing Yoga and looking over the rice field and blue sky! Also very good to scretch our body by some simple yoga postures, breathing, inhale, focus and relax...watermelon and some lemongrass, furit serves after the class, I like this! The breakfast at the Chedi Club resturant is quite a lot even for both of us! There are glass of smoothies, bread/toast basket, fruit plate, sausage, egg, coffee, tea...and they are all from the organic farm in the resort!!! We spent the day in the swimming pool, swimming, taking pictures, while G busy reading the guide book to climb the volcano!!! Oh No... Climb the mountain?! She looked determinant, and ambitous! I actually prepared the gear, I packed windbreaker, head-light, power gel into my bag...G confirmed with Swam for the arrangement, 2:30am wake-up, 3am pickup to the starting point, 4am start walking so wi

Recap 2008-09-18 The Chedi Club Ubud

18 September - 20 September Honeymoon at The Chedi Club Ubud The limousine from The Chedi Club arrived at 12:30pm when we checked out the villa in our living room. Then we headed to the Ubud, the middle part of Bali, where we've been missing in the last five years. We grabbed from drinks and food from the mini-bar of The Gangsa so we could keep eating and drinking on the way to Ubud! The Chedi Club is at Tanah Gajah, 15mins away from the central of Ubud. It was surrounded by all sides by green rice fields, we were welcomed and greeted by our dedicated butler called Swam. Swam is a smart young guy I guess he is at late-20. He drove the buggy and showed us arround the facility in the resort and our room facility. The Chedi Club started since 2005, it was a private garden owned by the Indoesian architect and then he invited GHM group to invent it to the resort. It has about 20 villas and suites and they are all self-contained units. This is an extension of The Club at Legian concept,

Recap 2008-09-16 The Gangsa Private Villa

16 September - 18 September It was about free activities for G family in the morning as they checked out and head to airport in the afternoon. Uluwatu visit So it set us free for the morning so we hired a car to go Uluwatu and G would like to look at the Bvlgari Resort and the Uluwatu temple. Uluwatu is the new developed area in the southern part of Bali, the cliff side resort alone the edge is spectacular! We spent some time on the cliff side lounge of Bvlgari for a drink and laidback with the sense for a while, that's really good to have sometime looking at the endless ocean and idle our mind. We then moved on to the Uluwatu Temple, the local people stopped us for the entry fee for the temple and the guide, he said he would protect us from the monkey. The price was resonable, and we were advised to take off the sunglassess as the monkey will grab it off and break it! The temple is not really special in compare with the temple in HK Lautau Island, as we cannot go inside so we just

Recap 2008-09-15 post-wedding day 2

We joint John for the breakfast after swim, G was arranging tour for family. John was very happy and telling how exciting was Seminkya nightlife and everywhere fabulous he and Raymond had been explored! G family was sitting on the other side and waiting for the tour. The air soon to be clean up so Alanie and Keith accompanied the family to go sight-seeing in Uluwatu and Tanah Lot for the day. Chiam had already brought Stephanie, Lyn and Elsie to Seminkya for Spa and massage! So we stayed with John in Nusa Dua so we could finally enjoy the sun and sea with 45mins jogging to Grand Hyatt and then swim a little in the beach and quality 15mins sun bathing! Send all friends home in the airport! During John checked out in the lobby we met Irene, Sheran, Yan and Joy so we hired a van to go airport altogether! Sheran and Joy stayed for a few hours as they took HK Express... In the airport departure hall, we waited for Chiam and the girls, Chi and Nat, Winnie, Elaine, Lew and Fok already went in

Recap 2008-09-14 post-wedding day 1

Honeymoon?! Not yet! Hui's family As that's the day my parent and my brother Eric will back to Hong Kong, we have our responsiblity to stay with them. We did have some plan to go sight-seeing but schedule was so tight as my dad is kind of consveratism, rather traditional, very safe, need to make sure arriving at the airport 2 hours before the flight. So we decided to have a leisure buffet breakfast and hanging around the hotel until they checked-out the room. My brother and Sing seized the last minutes to go shopping! Bill from Ritz-Carlton At the time, Made and his staff from Ritz arrived at Westin for our final payment, we invited them to our room and settled the bill, he also present their card and wedding gift to us which is a very nice wooden handicraft!! The invoice from Ritz-Carlton is very clearly breaking down all the beverages we've consumed in the party, their service is very professional, polite and even more than we were expecting! I hereby hightly recommended

Recap 2008-09-12 pre-wedding shot, rehearsal, dinner

Buffet breakfast at about 8am and our families already there! This morning would be pre-wedding shot and make-up trial by Ki and Cha Ling, afternoon would be wedding rehearsal in Ritz Carlton, evening would be sunset dinner with all friends just arrived! After the breakfast Alanie and Keith, Ki and Cha Ling arrived at our room, they are all the playful-minded happy people! G was easy to be influenced so she quickly got back the mood! By the time Cha Ling was seeing the dress of G and trying the make-up, Alanie and Keith brought Ki to walk around the Westin and look for some scene, I was typing G's complaint letter on the blackberry and sending to any room service manager, executive manager....anyone we could shot! A few minutes after pressing the send, my telephone ring and he was the Room Service Manager, acknowledging the receive of the email and understanding our problem, we agreed to talk about it during lunch break as we were busy preparing for the wedding shot, G didn't w

Recap 2008-09-11 Taking off to Bali

Before the alarm clock ring, my dad already called me and said "We are just on the bus A12, how about you?" Of course I replied "Yes we wake up already!" I just washed my eyes and it was 5:40am. G and I both waked up, washed up, frankly I couldn't say we were happy in that morning. Sonic fat-Kin, the van driver, already arrived at our building on time, 6:15am, G wasn't ready yet, so I moved all pieces of luggage to the Van first... I put my wedding dress and shoes altogether with some photography/lighting equipments from our photographer Ki into one luggage, that's solely for wedding; I used an Orca triathlon training bag which big enough for all holiday clothes, that's solely for vocation. My hand-carry bag included the vintage film camera by Ki and freshly made mooncake by Mary as the gift of wedding. G had two luggage for all the clothes and wedding decorative materials, including our guestbooks, pre-wedding photo albums... We also had one box of

Recap 2008-09-10 Final preparation in HK

The day was approaching, we both took 2 days off for the final preparation, G was busy preparing some nice decorative for the wedding cocktail and reception to top-up the overall decoration. I was busy wrapping up all the red/white wine bottles for the flight check-in...we both were very busy and running around for anything like making sure of all currencies and cash and Lai-See enough and also about the family and friends arrangement, group travel itinerary, wedding day schedule final checkup, decorative materials packing, emailing all friends and family for the flight check-in, seat confirmation, reminding the Bali airport pick-up arrangement, time was flying so quick and we were still not able to confirm where to go and where to stay for our honeymoon, it was mid-night already, no plan could be a good plan but we were not backpacking this time so we should have something nicer! Anyway it was too late and we decided to left it after our wedding, we still have time as wedding on 13, b
