Honeymoon at The Chedi Club Ubud

The limousine from The Chedi Club arrived at 12:30pm when we checked out the villa in our living room. Then we headed to the Ubud, the middle part of Bali, where we've been missing in the last five years. We grabbed from drinks and food from the mini-bar of The Gangsa so we could keep eating and drinking on the way to Ubud!

The Chedi Club is at Tanah Gajah, 15mins away from the central of Ubud. It was surrounded by all sides by green rice fields, we were welcomed and greeted by our dedicated butler called Swam. Swam is a smart young guy I guess he is at late-20. He drove the buggy and showed us arround the facility in the resort and our room facility.

The Chedi Club started since 2005, it was a private garden owned by the Indoesian architect and then he invited GHM group to invent it to the resort. It has about 20 villas and suites and they are all self-contained units. This is an extension of The Club at Legian concept, a private home away from home format, spoiling, rustic, and mellow.....okay enough copy & paste!!

Swam showed us our room, Oh! Let me tell you what we have!

  2. complimentary Voka, Gin, Wisky (refuel daily)
  3. complimentary mini-bar drink and snacks (refuel daily)
  4. complimentary daily breakfast at the resturant surrounded by the rice fields
  5. complimentary daily yoga class from 8am-9:30am surrounded by the rice fields
  6. complimentary laundries service!! (that I need after 6 days of travel!!)
  7. complimentary cocktail and afternoon tea
  8. in-room 26" Sony LCD TV, Bose DVD player
  9. big bathroom, bathtube and outdoor shower!!

I love it! Let me check out the pool! Oh the swimming pool is 35M long surrounded by the green and nobody swim there! Looks claim and endless! Once I sat down the lifeguard will provide two wet facial towels, green tea with mist spray for the face, ice-water and sun-cream!! What a personal touch and nice service!!! What more I can ask for??

There also has a laptop computer on the pool side for your Internet access.

I love this pool very much!

John Hardys factory
We went out, Monkey Forrest Road please.
The football field is still exist, no change, we dropped by the resturant for some snacks, fairy....next stop? John Hardys! LUX guide highly recommended this for 'advanced' shopping?! And the visit is by strictly appointment?! Yes, John Hardys is a famous silver brand which recently bring into HK by the former model Jimmy Wong, that all adding up into the enough reason to take a visit!

It is about 25mins away from the central Ubud, on the way we ran though some villages and rice fields, felt like those Rambo movie running behind the enemy line, we have no idea on where we were until the driver said "It's here!"

There is no brander no title no sign post, just a small entrance to the village, we walked inside and register our passport, then we were welcomed by the Balinese lady, and she brought us to another bamboo made hut. We had to take off our shoes before we went into the hut, that is actually the showroom! The showroom is fully made of bamboo and the architecture was based on the landscape of the paddy rice fields, you will see the soil and the river just right under the bamboo making floor, of course John Hardy's silver were displayed in the showroom for our shopping! She also brought us to the VIP room in the ground floor for some more advanced product! The shopping experience was so amazing and the architecture of the showroom is so exrotic and so spectacular! You really wouldn't mind to spend some money in the showroom!

The lady is also very friendly and very gorgeous, we chated with her and knowing that she was transferred from the hotel industry and has been working with John for a few years, is she called "Eka"?

2nd Naughty Nuri
We both were very happy walking around Ubud, no need to care about anything, any schedule, we supposed to try Mozaic but it's damn expensive! and fully booked!! We switched to Naughty Nuri for a 2nd visit! Sorry, it's me again!!

Surprise in Chedi
We went back to The Chedi Club after crazy drinking and ordering!
We back to our suite, open the door, oh what? Some flower on the floor, looks like it guides you to the washroom? I open the door, oh the flower guide you to the bathtube! Oh it's the floral bath ready! The champagne and starrberry also ready on the side! And also honeymoon cake on the table!! My god!!! So nice!!

We were drinking too much, G call it a day by lying on the bed after lot of champagneee and I finished the DVD documentary about Bali....

街知巷聞﹕站在柴灣道 細味日常故事-A+A明報 – 2011年12月11日星期日上午5:54寄給朋友列印【明報專訊】明報大廈位於柴灣，我卻極少注意這個地區。上班下班匆匆而過，不是老舊公屋就是工廠大廈。翻開柴灣的歷史，過往數十年來，追趕着柴灣發展的都是居住和就業需求，「里程碑」不外乎幾幾年建了XX邨、幾幾年又拆了XX邨再重建，某年開始引進工業，某年填海某年建成某道路……一切都順着城市整體的步伐來，既不領先亦不對抗。主題除了生存與工作，就是疾病（醫院）與死亡（墳場），最基本不過。然而，柴灣的地理位置其實很美；三面環山的谷地，水源豐富，盛產木材。位於港島東盡頭，從前卻稱為「西灣」。原來在東區聚居的客家人常到此砍柴，客家話中的「柴」字近似粵音「西」字，故被誤讀多年，也曾出現「Sai Wan」的英文舊稱。後來柴灣終於獲正名，但東邊的「小柴灣」卻繼續被叫做「小西灣」，沿用至今。長命斜見證柴灣變遷香港開埠以前，柴灣只有30名客家村民，1891年增加至208人，一直種田打魚為生。殖民政府在港島區的規劃以中環、灣仔為發展中心，電車只鋪到筲箕灣，以鯉魚門為軍事門戶，設置軍營和炮台（成為今日的香港海防博物館）；鯉魚門以東的柴灣，無險可守，無車路可達，荒蕪得吸引了香港童軍總會於1925年建立營地，老街坊稱該小山坡為「童軍山」，位置就在今日港鐵站旁的柴灣公園。1950年代以前，柴灣連巴士也不到。對外的唯一路徑，是柏架山與柴灣坳的夾縫間、有長命斜之稱的柴灣道。但當時的柴灣道甚為狹窄，唯一一條來往灣仔的8號巴士線，只能駛至現時東區醫院洗衣房的位置，居民再自行步入柴灣。50年代開始，內地難民大量湧港，市區居住空間不足，部分貧苦家庭選擇落戶於柴灣這邊陲之地。大片木屋、寮屋，由山腰一直伸延至海邊。1968年，柴灣人口增至8萬人。小城小事 一切來得踏實柏架山下的故事，不像對岸的獅子山那樣激動人心。1959年木屋區被清拆改建成27幢徙置大廈，70年代開始徒置區又陸續改建成公共屋邨，同時興建工廠大廈提供就業機會、擴闊道路改善交通，直至80年代地鐵通車、東區走廊啟用，柴灣居民仍是自成一隅地默默生活着，一直沒發生什麼轟烈的大災難或大事件。日常生活裏每遇到柴灣人，聽他們談起「我細個在柴灣大的……」，語氣並不特別自豪，卻總是愉快，底子裏是踏實的、關於家的回憶。a. 羅屋民俗館柴灣早期的木屋平房都已清拆，唯一保留下來...

After all those years with Polar, Sportstrack, I am moving forward to use GarminConnect as my training blog start from 2011! It's web-based, crosss-platform. It allows sharing to multiple web platform, e.g. blogger, facebook... It's Google Earth compatible. I just need to figure out how to log my equipment mileages e.g. running shoes, wheels...

IRONMAN Certified Coach

I took a chance of my mid-season break between two major race to attend the coaching course. I've done some research on the pros and cons, Trisutto disagree with the M-Dot coaching concept said it was misleading and not qualified for high performance coaching. http://trisutto.com/ironman-university-it-gets-worse/ Yes I agree you will not be qualified for high performance coaching but the course content did deliver wide aspect of knowledge you need to finish a IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 event. That's the key. The course lead you to become a coach for the beginner or intermediate triathlete that aim to finish the race in the systematic approach. That's the majority of triathlete who are just working hard for their PB instead of podium finish or a Kona slot. 2017 PuYuMa 113 Triathlon

Road to Puyuma113 Triathlon After the year of sabbatical of triathlon in 2016, I picked up the training again last December to condition my body prior the training program from Jan to Mar. It was a repeat of 2014. Just I ran slower pace during the training. Still, I made used of the winter season in Hong Kong to gain back my fitness, I took the half marathon at China Coast and HK Marathon as my training run even my run time was quite disappointing. I more or less take the same training schedule as in 2014 and 2015. Monday: Sonic interval/tempo run 1.5 hours Tuesday: My own bike turbo 1 - 1.5 hours with little conditioning Wednesday: Sonic swim 1.5 - 2 hours Thursday: Office2Home run 1.5 hours Friday off Saturday: Long bike Sunday: Sonic Brick session I did little tricks on the schedule, gear and nutrition plan this time.
