It was definitely the worst day in the life of being in Nomura.
All staffs in Securities Systems and Global Systems Division was informed to attend the staff meeting at 9:30am. It's for all staff, no matter where you are, or you're on leave, you need to attend. It's not a good stuff, it never happen.
We all guess there would have some announcement on the working direction, relationship with Nomura Securities, Nomura International...
Somehow, the announcement was about to tell all of us, the service contract of NRI with NIHK will be terminated on 31 July 2009. 90% of staff will receive offer from Nomura International.....
And then all the department head to distribute the envelop with the termination letter with the new employment letter...
Damn it, the employment letter is just a fucking piece of stuff to tell you to work until 31 December 2009.
Okay, this is really a right time since Nomura tookover Lehmen Brother happen, we feel like we were in many difference kind of battle, there were too many conflicts in terms of culture, technologies, people, organizational structure in both firms.....so far, most of the old Nomura staffs left the firm, it's no longer the Nomura in the past.
Four years with Nomura, I've worked on my best I could do and I've no regret at all, It's time to move on.
